Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer que l’artiste américaine Erin O’Keefe sera la 24e artiste à faire partie de notre programme Entractes. Erin O’Keefe est photographe, sculpteuse, peintre, architecte. Elle photographie des compositions faites de formes en bois qu’elle peint et qui deviennent des jeux perceptifs : où est le premier plan ? Où est l’arrière-plan ? Est-ce plat ? Est-ce tridimensionnel ? Quelle est l’échelle de l’objet photographié ? Un vrai casse-tête et un vrai régal pour nous tous.

We are happy to announce that the American artist Erin O’Keefe will be the 24th artist to be part of our Entractes programme. Erin O’Keefe is a photographer, a sculptor, a painter, an architect. She creates tableaux of painted wooden shapes that become perceptual games: what is foreground? what is background? what is flat? what is three dimensional? what is the scale of the object photographed? A real puzzle and a real delight for viewers.

Depuis juillet 2018, The Eye Sees présente deux à trois expositions par an. Notre attention se porte principalement sur des artistes venant du monde entier qui, pour l’instant, n’ont jamais exposé à Arles et dont le travail repousse les limites de le photographie.
Les artistes travaillant dans d’autres domaines trouvent aussi, bien évidemment, leur place à The Eye Sees.
Entractes, notre programme d’interventions temporaires sur les vitrines de The Eye Sees a été mis en place en Septembre 2018. Il offre aux Arlésiens et aux visiteurs de la ville l’opportunité d’admirer une œuvre visible – 24h sur 24h et 7 jours sur 7 pendant la durée de l’installation – directement de la rue sans avoir à passer la porte de la galerie.

Since July 2018, The Eye Sees presents 2 to 3 shows a year. Our focus is mainly to showcase the work of artists from around the world who have never so far exhibited in Arles and who are pushing the boundaries of photography as a medium.
Artists working in other media also find their place at The Eye Sees.
Entractes, our programme of temporary interventions using the windows of The Eye Sees was inaugurated in September 2018. The program offers an opportunity for residents of Arles and visitors alike to see an original work 24/7 during the time of the installation. The work can always be seen from the street, without the need to enter the actual gallery space.
